Select a Census Place
Measurement Period: 2023
This indicator shows the percentage of households with at least one person who received treatment for substance abuse, smoking, or nutrition related to substance abuse in the past 3 years.

Why is this important?

Drug abuse and addiction have negative consequences at both the individual and societal level. Drug addiction and alcoholism are serious problems, and treatment is available to counter addiction.  A combination of behavioral therapy and treatment medications tailored to an individual's particular abusive pattern and other mental, emotional, or medical issues is suggested to help overcome addiction.
